The practical parts of pattern design, in one place

BeaderDesk focuses on the details that matter once a pattern leaves the screen: bead sizes, colour codes, materials, and instructions a maker can follow.

Accurate canvas setup

Choose the stitch, bead system, row count, and column count before you start. Finished size is calculated from real bead dimensions, not rough pixel guesses.

Catalog-backed colours

Work with real manufacturer codes from supported Miyuki, Toho, and Preciosa catalogs. Add colours from the palette panel and keep materials tied to actual beads.

Pattern tools that stay out of the way

Paint, erase, select, fill, mirror, zoom, and pan on a canvas built for bead charts. The workspace keeps the pattern area first.

Beading progress

Follow the chart while making it. Mark rows, columns, or selected sections complete, add notes, and show highlights directly on the canvas.

Materials and shopping lists

See bead counts by colour, material estimates, and shopping list data before you publish or start stitching.

Seller-ready exports

Generate PDFs with chart pages, legends, dimensions, materials, word charts, branding, watermark, and license text.

Turn a reference image into a beadable chart

Import an image, position it on the canvas, then convert it into a pattern that uses the bead system already selected for the project.

  • Use the current stitch, bead size, and catalog palette.
  • Preview the chart before committing changes to the canvas.
  • Keep refining colours and materials after conversion.

A calmer workflow from setup to PDF

The page flow follows how bead artists work: plan the canvas, design the chart, verify materials, then export a pattern someone can actually make.

  1. Set up the pattern

Start with a preset or custom canvas, then choose the stitch and bead system you actually plan to use.

  2. Draw with real colours

Build the chart with catalog beads, selection tools, fill, mirror options, and a canvas made for repeated editing.

  3. Check making details

Review dimensions, bead counts, materials, beading direction, notes, and progress before the pattern is shared.

  4. Export for use or sale

Create a buyer-facing PDF, a quick print, or a focused section export with the private workspace data left out.

Turn finished designs into clear pattern files

BeaderDesk keeps the customer-facing files tidy: charts, legends, dimensions, materials, and instructions are prepared from the same design data.

Common questions

What is BeaderDesk for?
BeaderDesk is a bead pattern workspace for creating charts, choosing real bead colours, checking materials, following progress while stitching, and exporting patterns for personal use or sale.
Can I sell the PDFs I export?
Yes. You can add your own branding, logo, website, watermark, and license text to exported PDFs. You are responsible for the rights to the pattern artwork and any content you include.
Does inventory affect the exported pattern?
No. Shopping lists and inventory data are private to your workspace. Exported pattern PDFs include customer-facing information such as the chart, legend, materials list, and word chart.
Will my work be saved if the connection drops?
BeaderDesk uses a local-first approach for the editor. Your work is saved locally first and syncs when the app can reach the server.
Do I need to track inventory?
No. The materials calculator and palettes work without any inventory. Inventory tracking is optional and only adds to the experience.
What data is used when I sign in with Google?
Google Sign-In is optional and is used only to authenticate your BeaderDesk account. BeaderDesk receives your basic Google profile information, such as your name and email address, and does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or other Google services.
Which bead catalogs are available?
The app currently focuses on catalog-backed bead systems such as Miyuki Delica, Toho Round, and Preciosa Rocaille where real color and sizing data is available.

Build the pattern once. Use it everywhere you bead or sell.

Start with the editor, follow the work in Reader Mode, and export polished files when the design is ready.
